Aru Bhartiya was born in Rajasthan, India. She has a bachelor’s in civil engineering and a master’s in Economics.
Growing up in the Hindu faith Aru was told that periods are impure. People were ashamed and never talked about periods. Aru volunteered as a teacher at Lha Charitable Trust, Dharamshala (India). She is interested in Women’s Studies and Refugee studies.
